July 2026 – PETER/LACKE Celebrates 120 Years of Company History
ANNIVERSARY EVENT
Hiddenhausen, July 13, 2026. PETER/LACKE celebrated its 120th anniversary with a two-day event. On July 10, customers, suppliers, banks, and local government officials gathered for Technology Day at the company’s headquarters in Hiddenhausen. One day later, the family-owned company opened its doors to employees, family members, friends, service providers, and other business partners for Family & Friends Day.
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Technology Day offered insights into PETER/LACKE’s technological expertise, international focus, and future priorities. Subsidiaries from Europe, Asia, and the Americas showcased the group’s global presence. In the evening, a festive event was held that focused both on the company’s 120-year history and on the shared future of the family-owned business.
A particular highlight of Friday was the discussion with Prof. Dr. Jens Südekum, an economist at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf and personal advisor to Federal Minister of Finance Lars Klingbeil on macroeconomic development. In an interview with Andreas Peter and David N. Peter, he spoke about globalization, crisis management, and the future viability of German small and medium-sized enterprises.
On Saturday, July 11, the Family & Friends Day was all about personal interaction and connection. Family members, friends, service providers, and business partners had the opportunity to get to know PETER/LACKE up close and celebrate the anniversary together.
A varied program for guests of all ages was offered. This included, among other things, an art workshop with Christian Awe, a children’s magician, and other entertainment options that made the day a special experience for all generations.
“PETER/LACKE’s 120-year history stands for responsibility, courage, a commitment to our customers, and a drive to continually evolve,” says David N. Peter, managing partner and representative of the fifth generation. “For us, our anniversary is not just a look back at what we’ve achieved, but above all a way to thank everyone who has made this history possible—and an incentive to continue shaping the future together.”
To mark the anniversary, PETER/LACKE is also launching a sponsorship initiative with the organization Plastic Fischer. The goal is to collect 120 metric tons of plastic from bodies of water within four years. To this end, the company is investing in a facility in India—a country where PETER/LACKE also has a subsidiary.
Through this initiative, PETER/LACKE is marking its anniversary by making a concrete contribution to greater sustainability and social responsibility. The project underscores the family-owned company’s commitment to combining economic success with long-term thinking and responsible action.

01/2026 – Groundbreaking ceremony for a new plant in Huizhou
NEW PLANT - SOUTHERN CHINA
On Thursday, February 5, 2026, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction project involving a 5,000-ton/year high-performance coating plant at PETER/LACKE (Huizhou) Co., Ltd. took place at the PETER/LACKE project site in Baihua Town, Huizhou County, Huizhou City.
In attendance were executives from Huizhou New Material Industrial Park, the PETER/LACKE Group, and its Chinese subsidiary, as well as high-ranking guests from various fields.
At the ceremony, Tim-Erik Mayer, CEO of the PETER/LACKE Group, explained the large-scale plan and development vision for the project. Executives from Huizhou Peida Construction and Huizhou Hydropower Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., as well as other parties, gave speeches and promised to support the construction of the plant and to realize a safe and high-quality premium project.
The plant in Huizhou will represent a significant milestone in the development of PETER/LACKE.

October 21–22, 2025—DESIGN WEEK 2025, jointly organized byKHALIL DESIGNandPETER/LACKE Shanghai, was successfullyheld at theIntercity Hotel, Xuhui Riverside.
Theexhibition curated by KHALILcovered eight thematic areas presentingCMF trends for 2026/2027, includingcolors, innovative materials, and special effects. The exhibits includedcolor samples, fabrics, decorative components, andmore.
More than 100 CMF designers from over 20 OEMs and design studios from different regions attended, including domestic, joint venture and international automotive brands. Over two days and ten sessions, the event provided a platform for suppliers and designers to exchange ideas on new CMF applications.

NEW in the portfolio: Powder coatings
PETER/LACKE has taken over a powder coating production facility in Austria with the acquisition of Solution-Lab GmbH, marking a significant step in the expansion of its portfolio. The company now offers a new, future-proof coating solution that complements existing liquid coating technologies. PETER/LACKE is thus positioning itself as one of the few medium-sized family businesses in the industrial and automotive coatings sector to offer its customers both technologies from a single source.

Thanks to state-of-the-art production technology and a global responsibility for the further development of this product area, the site will help to further establish PETER/LACKE as a system provider on an international level.

02/2025 - Expansion in China
EXPANSION OF THE SHANGHAI SITE
Our globalization began in the 1990s with our first exports to China. In 2003, a 100% subsidiary was founded in Pudong. In 2010, this site was closed and the company moved to a new building in a chemical park in the south of Shanghai (Feng Xian).
Today, 15 years later, we are expanding this site with a large technical center building, another warehouse and a modern social complex. It will include a quality control laboratory, an R&D laboratory and a new application technology with spray booths for paint system simulations. The move-in date is expected to be the end of 2025. Otherwise, this year we are looking forward to the completion of our new plant in Mumbai, India and a new central warehouse at our headquarters in Hiddenhausen.
We are planning to put the new production site in southern China into operation in 2026.
01/2025 - Expansion in China
New plant in southern China
On December 19, 2024, PETER/LACKE signed the contract for a new production facility in Huizhou, South China. Huizhou is strategically located near Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou and is an important transportation hub for the greater Guandong-Hong Kong-Macao region.
We have invested in a second production facility in China in order to be close to our customers and to be competitive in the Chinese market for electric vehicles. Huizhou offers PETER/LACKE considerable growth opportunities.
The search for the production site was a process of extensive research and involved a demanding evaluation process. In the first round, 75 chemical parks were examined and evaluated. A shortlist of five parks was then drawn up, located in five cities and four provinces. Three investment approaches were considered: Brownfield, Greenfield and Build-to-Lease. Ultimately, the build-to-lease model was chosen as it offered numerous advantages for our operations.
In the final round, the decision was made in favor of the Huizhou site. It has very good soil conditions and is close to our customers. This investment is the first international project in the Huizhou New Materials Industry Park, which we are particularly proud of.
In addition to the official ceremony on December 19, the South China team met for dinner with Andreas Peter and Tim-Erik Mayer to make a promise: To grow together as PETER/LACKE Group and strive for further development. Andreas Peter, Tim-Erik Mayer and the Chinese management team also visited our strategic business partner XinPoint, which is also based in Huizhou.

We have received the BEST PLACE TO LEARN seal, which is awarded by AUBI Plus and serves as an independent guide for school leavers. It offers a promise of above-average in-company training. It also lays the foundation for continuous further development at PETER/LACKE.
A 360-degree survey of current trainees, former trainees and trainers proves that junior staff are trained in a particularly good way for the requirements of modern working environments. The model comprises 70 quality criteria.

02/2024 - Donation to the Bielefeld Clinic
PETER/LACKE donates €20,000
The shortage of doctors poses a major challenge in today’s society. For this reason, PETER/LACKE donated €20,000 to Bielefeld University Hospital to support the training of medical students from the University of Bielefeld at the hospital. In addition to P/L, nine other companies from the region have also made donations to strengthen local education, science, and the economy. Celebration of the 20th anniversary of PETER/LACKE Hungary. 🎉 🥂 After a full day of productive discussions, the team had dinner in a cozy Italian restaurant, where David N. Peter thanked the Hungarian team for the past 20 years of cooperation and announced the concept and support for a bright future in Hungary.

We have been active in the network for quite some time and have been a member of experiMINT e.V.. We are now also the proud recipients of the membership plaque, which was accepted by David N. Peter (Managing Partner) and Dr. Maximilian Summerer (Head of Human Resources). We are very much looking forward to the planned projects and to being able to offer young people and teachers insights into a chemical company.
11/2023 - Two ground-breaking ceremonies in one week
Expansion in India and Germany
In Germany, we are expanding our premises with a new warehouse, which will have an area of 2330 m² and will also provide space for technical tests or offices in the future. The official ground-breaking ceremony last Friday heralded the start of construction. The official start of construction is planned for November 20 and the entire construction phase will take around 1 year. 🚧
